More than 100 grant makers are seeking the views of charities as they look to improve how they hand out funding.
They want views on the application process, whether forms and information given is clear and how funders can improve their communication with charities.
The level of information required from charities in the process is also an issue covered.
Another is whether grant makers could benefit from speaking directly to charities before making a final decision rather than relying solely on application forms.
Whether grant makers have an idea of “what it’s like really running a charity” and the challenges charity leaders face are other issue views are being sought for.
The Funding Experience Survey has been produced by the Institute of Voluntary Research along with grant makers that have signed up to a pledge to be more open and trusting in how they make and manage grants.
Funders signing up pledge to explore ways to save charities' time, only ask relevant questions and speed up the process.
